We aim to provide clear and helpful information to ensure you and your furry friend have the best possible experience with us.

Your questions answered

Running late

If you’re running behind, please give us a quick call. We hold appointments for 15 minutes. After this, we may need to reschedule or complete only what is possible within the remaining time. Late arrivals can affect the calm, steady flow of the day for all dogs in our care.

Late collection and fees

We offer a 30‑minute grace period, after which a £5 late fee applies, plus £5 per additional half hour.

We always send a reminder and confirm a collection time when you drop your dog off.

Will you cut my dog's hair if it's matted?

Yes, if a dog's coat becomes heavily matted, the safest and most humane option is often to carefully shave or clip the matted areas. We always prioritise your dog's comfort and well-being, and will discuss this with you during the consultation. If your dog arrives with excessive matting that needs extra time and very gentle, careful work, an additional £6 per 15 minutes will be added. Most de‑matting sessions fall between £10–£18, depending on coat condition and how much extra brushing is needed.

What should I do before bringing my dog for a groom?

Before bringing your furry friend in, we recommend ensuring they have been for a toilet break. Please also let us know about any health conditions, allergies, or behavioural issues they may have. A quick brush at home can also help us start with a more manageable coat.

What makes Wiggle and Wagging Bright Eyes unique?

Customers often appreciate our personalised approach and the calm, stress-free environment we create. We focus on building trust with each dog, using gentle techniques and high-quality products. Our dedication to pet welfare and exceptional results truly sets us apart.

What advice do you have for after a grooming session?

To maintain your dog's coat between grooms, regular brushing is key. We can recommend specific brushes and techniques tailored to your dog's coat type. Keep an eye on their skin for any irritation, and ensure their diet supports healthy skin and fur. Fresh water and plenty of exercise always contribute to overall well-being.

What is included in a full groom?

A standard full groom at Wiggle and Wagging Bright Eyes includes a basic health check, bathing in  a hydro bath with premium shampoos, thorough blow-drying, brushing out, professional styling or trimming, ear cleaning (when appropriate), and nail clipping. We ensure every detail is covered for a pristine finish.

How often does my dog need a groom?

Dogs with long or high-maintenance coats typically need grooming every 4–8 weeks. Short-haired breeds can often go longer, around 8–12 weeks, but regular at-home brushing is always required to prevent matting and keep their coat healthy.

When should my puppy get their first groom?

Most groomers recommend bringing puppies in around 12 weeks old, shortly after they have received their second round of vaccinations. This early introduction helps them get accustomed to the grooming environment and process positively.

Can I stay with my dog while they get groomed?

For the safety and comfort of all pets, most professional groomers, including us, do not allow owners to stay during the grooming session. Dogs often become overly excited or distracted when they see their owners, which can cause them to move unexpectedly and make the grooming process unsafe.
